The findings of the formal evaluation of the SACS K-12 High Ability Program...
Due to the state mandated ISTEP+ testing of all sophomores and Biology students, Homestead will often be on a modified bell schedule during the testing window. Students are required to attend all of their Homestead classes, no matter what time that class is meeting. Students participating in Co-Op, Work Study, Internship and Cadet Teaching programs must attend their Homestead classes at these alternate times. Please make arrangements with your employers and mentors if the modified schedule will alter the time that you can participate in those programs. Higher Ed students may leave only if their off-site college class meeting time is in direct conflict with their modified Homestead schedule. (Attendance has your college schedule. Please meet with them immediately if you have any questions.) Students who have after school jobs must remain in school and attend class based on these alternate times. Please make arrangements with your employer if the modified schedule will alter the time that you can arrive at work. Students in the Senior Experience must attend the full block at the posted times. Anthis students may leave Homestead at their usual time UNLESS they are testing. Anthis students who come to Homestead during the afternoon can also follow their usual schedule, if they are not taking an ISTEP+ exam. Any Anthis students who are testing must be here to take the ISTEP+ exams at the posted times. If you are taking an ISTEP+ exam and will need to miss Anthis classes, please see your counselor to make those arrangements.
